Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) at Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Institute of Technology & Sports Complex. Established in 2024, the department was founded with a mission to nurture skilled professionals in the dynamic and rapidly evolving domain of cyber security

Vision

The objective is to become a distinguished department in Cyber Security education, research, and innovation, committed to training highly skilled professionals who can defend digital assets and contribute to building secure and resilient systems.

Mission

  • DM1: To establish a robust foundation for students in cyber security concepts, techniques, and best practices.
  • DM2:  To stimulate collaborative research with industry partners to confront real-world security challenges.
  • DM3: To develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical hacking competencies among students.
  • DM4: To encourage responsible and ethical practices in the design and implementation of cyber security technologies.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOS):

  • PEO1: Graduates will acquire the knowledge and skills essential for designing, implementing, and sustaining secure systems and networks.
  • PEO2: Graduates will be prepared to participate in pioneering research in cyber security, leading to innovative solutions and academic publications.
  • PEO3: Graduates will showcase leadership skills and ethical standards, contributing positively to their organizations and society.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs):

  • PSO1: Proficiency in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating cyber threats and vulnerabilities in various fields.
  • PSO2:  Skill in employing modern tools and techniques for penetration testing, forensic work, and incident response.
  • PSO3: Capability to design and implement secure systems that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
